Knowles

Bill Knowles built walkaround sportfishermen in Stuart, Florida, and is generally credited as an innovator of the layout. He delivered the 36-foot Old Reliable to Palm Beach sailfish angler Nick Smith in 1988, and by 2001 had tooled up to build the Knowles 37 Walkaround from that design. The Coast Guard lists Knowles Boat Company on HIN codes KBQ (1983–1987) and KNO (1984–2008); by 2010 Knowles had retired.
