A good sportfish outlives most of her programs. She gets sold, renamed, repowered and rebuilt, and each time part of her history leaves with the last program. The Hull Card keeps it in one place: every hull by builder and hull number, every name she has carried, and every change on record, each with its source.

How a hull is known

The name on the transom is the first thing a new program changes. So every hull is filed the way the yard built her, by builder and hull number, and every name she has carried stays on her page. Search finds her by any of them.

Where the facts come from

Every name and every event on her page links to where it came from and says how sure we are. Reported when one source says it, confirmed when a second source agrees, unverified when the sources don’t settle it. Nothing is made up. What we don’t know stays blank until someone can prove it.

Photos and media

The photos, videos and write-ups on her page stay where they were published. Each one is credited to where it ran and links back to the original; nothing is copied here. If something is yours and you want it off her page, tell us and it comes down.

Corrections

Ran her, fished her, built her, or just know her better than we do? If something on her page is wrong or missing, drop us a line, and point us to the proof: a yard record, a registry entry, a published story. Every message gets read. A change goes on her page once a source backs it up.
