East Bay Boat Works

Vance Gillikin and Mervin Rose started East Bay Boat Works in 1971, after Gillikin had built boats for years with his brother James; his sons James and Ricky joined full time out of school. The yard built sportfishermen, trawlers, lobster and paddlewheel boats, and the Coast Guard file carries its name on hulls from 1972 to 2006. The sportfish of its later years are often sold as Ricky Gillikin boats.
