Bobby Croswait started building 21- to 26-foot crab boats at fifteen with his stepfather, Capt. Buddy Cannady of BC Boatworks, then moved up to charter and sportfishing boats with the Carolina flare, more than 120 boats in all. His yard, Croswait Yachts, built at Wanchese on Roanoke Island; his son Aaron has run Croswait Custom Composites since 2014.
