Billy Holton

Billy Holton learned the trade with O'Neal, Tillett and Davis and from his stepfather, Sheldon Midgett, and helped Buddy Davis build Bishop 2 in 1974. In 1976 he built the first Carolina jig boat, a 32-foot cold-molded plywood hull, and ran two shops, jigs in one and plank-on-frame in the other, building jigs for other yards as well. He built more than 100 boats; Holton Custom Yachts Inc is the builder of record on his later hulls in the Coast Guard file.
