Scott Harrell Sr. organized Scott Boat Works in Edenton in 1977 and incorporated Albemarle Boats the next year; J. Scott Harrell Jr. became president in 1990. The yard introduced the 410 Express in 2000 and joined Brunswick in 2005, was bought by Scott McLaughlin in 2009, and passed with its sister yard Carolina Classic to Murphy Alternative Investments in 2015.
